[Heathkit] SB-610 solid state conversion

My apologies Joe. I totally respect QST and ARRL. Please forgive me. It's
just that it was a huge surprise just about the time that I was about to
write off the project. I have to give Barry great credit for luring me back
into reengaging in the article. I figured it was a lost cause and was
thinking about just self-publishing on my own website. I appreciate that you
folks have considered this project worthy of publication. Thank you for your
repudiation Joe, it was very rude of me to state it that way.

Well, it's not that QST "sat on it," it's that we have a lot of articles in
queue!

We also try to arrange the articles in each issue to hit different areas of
interest, so it is really a bunch of queues. VHF antennas, for example, tend
to get published the quickest.

Hi Group,

I thought I'd let you know that I've got an article coming out in the
September QST on my SB-610 conversion project that I started three years
ago. While the design, construction, and writing the article took less than
a year, QST sat on the thing until a few months ago - so please don't blame
me for dragging my feet HI HI. Anyway, the article with all the construction
plans are on their way to the presses. I hope this will encourage some of
you fellows to salvage some old SB-610s that would otherwise wind up in the
dumpster. And I also want to thank those of you who encouraged me on this
project several years ago.
