[Heathkit] IG 4505

I there any magic in having an output coax cable  terminated with the 50 
ohm resistor at the BNC connector on the IG 4505 oscilloscope calibrator 
.  Can I just replace the cable with a BNC jack and terminate it with 
the resistor?
