[Heathkit] DX100 paint

The Sherwin-Williams formula for the gray used on the DX-100, DX-40, etc. is included in the article at:

All the formulas EXCEPT the one for the Collins S-Line cabinets are for 1-quart.  Any good paint store can use the Sherwin-Williams formulas to make the correct color.

You will have to do a wrinkle under the paint and then over spray with the correct color.

I definitely suggest removing all the old paint before repainting the DX-100.  Heath did not prime the paint on their cabinets and there can be problems if the old paint is not removed.  For the wrinkle/crackle I use Valspar Stone either #11444 Manhattan Mist or #11439 Alabaster.  The Alabaster does, in my opinion, a slightly better finish.

The article references Plasti-Kote paint.  Valspar is the same paint.  The company dropped the Plasti-Kote brand name and went to the parent company name.
