However, I'm still missing the Band switch assembly for it. As a lesser need, I could use two original DX-100 6146 octal tube sockets for the project. Somewhere along the way the tubes were changed out to 807 tubes and of course to do this the tube sockets had to also be changed out.

In practical terms, this project never made any sense as the transmitter was "too far gone" for a reasonable person to restore. I just could not let it degrade any further and the pile of needed parts is now almost complete so the job can now be tackled.

Hi Lee,

If you don't get a couple of used, original Heathkit tube sockets I have
a source for new, reasonably priced, ceramic octal tubes sockets. I have
bought and used their products and I'm satisfied.

As to what is or is not "worth it" - well this is a hobby. Who ever said
we are reasonable? If we try to apply the yardsticks used in business
models to determine what is "worth it" in our hobbies there wouldn't be
any hobbies at all. Who in his right mind would ever pay anything for a
canceled postage stamp!?! (just for example)

73,

Bill KU8H
