Oh come on guys - Howie was trying to be funny - hams really are
cheap, particularly us boatanchor guys who tend to think of an AC-1 as
parts ordered from the 1957 Allied Radio catalog.
Let's see - $1.25 for a chassis, 39 cents for a couple of tube
sockets, a $1.61 power transformer, and a $1.19 tuning cap. Add in
$3.74 for tubes and misc. parts and the whole thing shouldn't cost
more than $10, right? OK, allow him some outrageous profit to pay the
rent and it is $10.33 maybe.......

Anyone who has actually attempted to create a business actually making
and selling things is familiar with this - been there. done that, and
got the T-shirt.... and later had to sell the T-shirt to pay the
landlord.

Good on ya' Howie for trying to create something new int he world and
I whole-heartedly wish you the best of luck in your endeavor.

73 & Have Fun,
Nick K4NYW
