Hi Bob
 
First thing is to check the supply lines followed by the value of all  
resistors with the unit switched off and replace any that are out of spec - they 
 age high over the years. Then look at the capacitors, valves and 
valveholders.  You should be able to find a voltage chart on the Internet for this 
transceiver.  Look for anything that shows evidence of overheating or leaking 
and  replace.
