I have had both but only own the SB-303 now. Not buy any choice, that's just
how the dice landed.
SB-301 - Tubes & 8 diodes.
SB-303 - All SS. No hinged lid. i.e. to work on it you have to slide it out
of the case, need extender boards to work on the plug in sub-boards.
Given both are working properly...
If you just want a Ham Band receiver, I'd keep the SB-303 (instant on)
If you want to have a matching SB-301/401 station, keep the SB-301. It
physically matches the SB-401 (the SB-303 is slightly narrower)

Happy New Year to you all.
Now, down to business.
You have two receivers. They are both working to specifications. One is a
SB-301, the other a SB-303.
One *has* to go. Which do you keep and why?
You will have to guess as to why I ask. ;-) Looking forward to your
observations and comments.
73,
Chris

PS: To those who see this posted on the "other" list. It's OK. I am casting
a wide net.
