[Heathkit] GR-54

I thought maybe I had a GR-54 in my Heathkit storage area.


Checked and regrettably it is a SW 717.  Absolutely perfect.  Still in the sealed box and unopened. . .but it is not the GR-54.

I was in the same situation.  I couldn't afford the deluxe model so built the 
GR-64.  It was lots of fun.  I still remember it fondly even though it wasn't 
much of a receiver.  I have seen them at hamfests and on Ebay, but usually the 
front plastic panel is cracked and the "cardboard" back panel is in bad shape.  
It would be really difficult to find one in good condition I think.

     I found mine at a hamfest flea market years ago.  Couldn't afford one when 
I was in high school, ended up with a GR-64 instead, which I still have.  Got my 
WPE/WDX 10 and 25 countries certificates with it, despite it's limitations.
