Several days ago, I announced that I am having a wrestling match with a DX 100B. Well, I am winning by the hardest. I am trying to interpret the manual instructions regarding calibrating the VFO and setting the trimmers and slugs to provide for the correct amount of bandspread.

As I interpret the instructions, I think I am following the steps correctly but I am not getting the results the manual indicates I should.

Has anyone had considerable success  properly achieving calibration and proper bandspread of a DX 100 VFO? If so, please pass along the  the tips on how to do the VFO calibration and setting the bandspread. I have the instructions but must be doing something wrong. There must be a "trick" or two that makes the procedure easier and more successful. Your input will be greatly appreciated.  73, John, K5PGW
