Hi John,
I have a DX-100B I bought new in 1959. It has never been around smoke nor in direct sunlight very much. I don't see any trace of Brown. It's a medium to dark gray, maybe just a hint of a little blue. Don't know how to describe a color any better.

Subject: [Heathkit] DX 100B cabinet color
Thanks for the info fellows. Somehow, I still think that some of the DX100 B transmitters I saw many years ago had a a wrinkled medium Blue cabinet. Surely there is one somewhere with the original color in good shape.
I have a DX100 with the original Gray paint on the cabinet. I am familiar with the Apaches and Mohawks because I have five of each of those. I have models of all of the Gray transmitters from the AT1 to the DX 100.
Tomorrow I begin the cleanup of the DX100 B and will do everything I can to protect the dial and associated plastic. Looking forward to getting the DX 100 B cleaned and checked out. 73, John, K5PGW
