[Heathkit] SB-220 tuning cap arcing

Is arcing at the tuning cap really a common problem with the SB-220?

Would I be better off to forget about the 220 and try to find a good 
221?  I don't really care about 10 meters all that much.

Some tell me that all of the 221's and the latest 220's had the 
wider-spacing tuning cap.  Others tell me that none of the 220's and 
only the later 221's had it.

It appears that there are many more 220's available than 221's so if 
I can find a 220 with the wide spaced tuning cap that seems best, but 
the chances of finding a seller who even knows if he has the wide cap 
seem slim at best, these days...
