Hi Lee
 
Could you add a layer or two of insulating sleeving to an existing  
insulated wire in order to increase the breakdown voltage if no other options  
present themselves?
 
I noted when refurbishing my SB-101 that the mains wiring to the on-off  
switch used the same thin sleeved wires as the rest of the cableform. It has  
never failed but I would feel happier with some thicker insulation.
