Hi Gary...

...Everybody,

"adding oil" sounds ominous! A clock is not a steam engine or a tractor
gearbox! Clocks are "oiled" by putting a feather quill down into a small
bottle of oil (3-in-1 or sewing machine oil. The feather then wicks the
oil up and evaporates it into the clock. The vapors then lubricate the
works. Anything more will stop a clock. I'm sure we will hear from guys
with stories about doing that and having it work. Maybe their clockwork
was built by Black & Decker or Briggs & Stratton. Been there - done
that. Yes..it does take some time to work. Hope this helps somebody
