Today I had a chance to go through the receiver. There is one 6EA8 tube
that just barely passes on the TV-7D/U tester. The other tubes were way
above minimum. I used Blue Shower on all the controls, then De-Oxit
Pro-Gold. Someone was kind enough to send me a .PDF of the alignment. It
went well. Right now I am listening to a SSB round-table on 40m. The sigs
are from S-6 to S-9+. I am satisfied the receiver is working, only one tube
may need replacement. But it is working.
As for the MT-1, I was able to find the VFO switch wafer in someone's junk
box, then a bit later someone offered me a complete but non-working MT-1 for
parts. The switch has arrived, but I am going to wait for the other MT-1 to
arrive before I do any work on the MT-1s. The other may be easier to
repair. But at least I will have enough parts to fully restore one of them.
Anyone have a .PDF of the alignment and operating portions of the MT-1?
It all cleaned up nice - but the cabinets will need a repaint. Anyone know
of a paint source, like Toyota touch-up spray or such?
Thanks very much.
