Duplex operation means that the transmitter and receiver are operating at the same time.  Duplex operation does take place in radios used for cross-band repeating but not in radios intended for "normal" operation through a repeater.

For normal repeater operation the transmit frequency is offset from the receive frequency.  In the case of the 2-meter band this offset is usually 600 kHz and in the case of the 70 cm band this offset is usually 5.0 MHz.  However, when the user is transmitting he/she is not receiving and the other way around.

Did you notice, there is no mention of a duplex capability.  How does it 
access a repeater?
