Nothing new...  Years ago I purchased a 2 meter rig and a mag mount antenna 
from Sears...  Yeah Sears, Roebuck & Co.
I still have the mag mount. Very few retailers bother to check if you hold a 
valid amateur license before (or after) selling transmitting equipment.

But many thanks for revealing this new source of inexpensive gear.
