Hi,
I remember the responses when Don was asking about this problem. I have
sometimes worked 'stuck' slugs loose but I have replaced more of them
than I got loose. Once they crack the whole game is changed to removal
of the pieces and replacement. I salvaged my replacements from the junk
box. Be most careful of that delicate paper tube!
Once in a while a slug wouldn't bring the coil into resonance. They were
probably the wrong mix. I just went back to the junk box and got a
different one and that always worked. Most of them worked the first
time.
If you put anything metal in there to apply heat from a solder iron do
NOT but it IN the hole. I agree with Don about that. I hate to even
think there is a metal hex wrench anywhere in the same county with me!
And that is only slightly more exaggerated than what Don said <evil
grin>. Good luck with yours, Jack.
