[Heathkit] Question on HA-10 Warrior front panel

Subject: [Heathkit] Question on HA-10 Warrior front panel
 

The HA-10 Warrior front panel is pale green with a darker green 
rectangle near the bottom that extends most of the width of the amp, 
where all controls and lights except for the Tuning, Bandswitch, and 
Loading are located.

Anybody know if that darker green rectangle is a separate piece that 
can be removed?
