[Heathkit] Rebuilding Heath HA-10 Warrior power supply

If I had to rebuild an HA-10 power supply (as if, for example, the
power transformer was blown), and if I didn't care about keeping it
original (I don't, especially), I would consider something like the following:
1. Replace the 811A's with 572B's
2. Install a Peter Dahl / Harbach PT-220 (replacement power
transformer for the SB-220/221)
3. Install a voltage doubler with lots of capacitance and get rid of
the swinging choke, and end up with something up to 2500 VDC at up to
600 ma CCS
4. Not sure (yet) what I'd do for a filament or bias supply... would
need 6.3 VAC at 16 amps and not sure what for bias (up to 100 volts
at the transformer secondary?).
This should let me drive the amp to 1000 watts PEP output comfortably, on SSB.
Does all this sound reasonable?
Anybody know what the HA-10 power transformer and swinging choke
weigh? A hoped-for bonus with this, besides ending up with an amp
that works better than new, is that it should be somewhat lighter in
weight. That is a factor in my plans for mounting.
Thanks...
