[Heathkit] SB-301 Receiver

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I had my trusty ol' SB-301 receiver sitting on the kitchen table to act as a monitor for some tests I was conducting on a Drake transmitter...

The receiver had an 8" lead of insulated wire hastily stuck into the antenna jack to facilitate reception of my test transmissions. Well, wonder of wonders if I didn't hear some SSB coming through on the old rascal on 15-meters! 

I don't know what was more amazing, i.e. the effectiveness of my "shorty" wire antenna (NOT!), or the performance of the 301!

I think I'll give all credit to the SB-301. I tend to forget just how GOOD a receiver this thing really & truly is...
