[Heathkit] HW100 final load cap

Yep, that was it. The reading is now .0014 ohms.I did manage to get
the oil (SB Blaster) out of the between section bushings but then the
shaft REALLY tightened up. I did not clean the front bearing of any
lubricants, so I proceeded to apply contact cleaner to it followed by
a squirt of liquid wrench L3 which is a penetrant/lubricant. It seemed
to free up a bit but stiffened right up again. Wish there was a way to
spin the pulley for a period of time but can't because of the stops on
the cap.

If there was ever a need for dial string design, this would be the it,
or better, a direct shaft connection. The belt is as tight as it can
be and is fairly new. It must be the original grease that has
hardened. I am thinking of applying heat to the shaft to try to
extricate some of that old grease. Running out of ideas here.

: Check the continuity between the shaft and frame while you rotate
it!
