[Heathkit] SBA-1400-4 power supply

Hi Tom,

I have a original Heathkit 1400 manual. Other than mention of the SBA-1400-4
as an accessory and a couple of graphics showing the connections between the
main unit and PSU, the only other space devoted to the SBA-1400-4 is a brief
paragraph about Base Station Installation.  In this paragraph, this sentence
says it all in regards to a manual, "Before you connect the PSU to the
Transceiver, refer to *its* manual and make sure it is wired for the correct
AC line voltage and has the proper fuse." 

Now we know there is a separate manual.  Hopefully, that's where we would
find a schematic.  My xcvr manual has two loose oversize pages with xcvr
schematics and block diagrams (font size is 000! ;-) ) but NO parts lists or
layouts.  

Glad you asked about this unit.  I put my SB-1400 up on a shelf a couple of
years ago and according to the manual, there's a battery back up in it.
Looks like I need to find and change the battery in my rig before bad things
happen such as the battery leakage in TS-850S's.  

Have you asked Gary Harmon if he has a SBA-1400-4 manual in his library?

I recently acquired one of these power supplies and am looking for a copy of
the Heathkit manual.  It is supposed to be essentially the same supply as
the Yaesu FP-757HD.  I do have an electronic copy of the Yaesu user manual
which is a two-pager covering basic use and a schematic but I wondered if
the Heath documentation provided a parts listing/layout and circuit
description.  Heath used this with the SB-1400 HF Transceiver which was also
made by Yaesu and not in a kit form.
