Rick - This would be to lower the voltage on the VFO screen.  I believe the only place the plate of the VR tube goes is the screen of the VFO tube....Pin 6, I believe.  Check and see if the vfo tube is a 6AU6 or 6AH6.  There is a 'change' (6AH6) to make the VFO more stable by changing tubes & a different VR tube.  Larry, KC8JX

The 0A2 VR tube in my DX-100B was replaced by a previous owner with a 
(lower-voltage) 0B2 (150V vs 108V).

Do any of you know of an aftermarket modification that involved doing that?

I've gone back to the 0A2 and it seems a little more stable.
