HI folks!
I have an other point of view:
first of all nobody (or almost nobody) is interested in building from
scratch a circuit which is about 40 years old; e.g. who would build a
crystal calibrator based onto a double triode?
the majority of the amateurs has acquired in some way an old unit which
has been sold in kit and which came with its relevant manuals. If they
are lost, it appears to me, that any owner of a genuine Heath unit has
(at least) the moral right to get that manual now missing.
In the italian law the right for a reserve copy is granted to the owner
of a software package; this case is very similar.
Of course that man has to pay for the small expenses (if any) encontered
in printing and posting; the electronic copy should be free in most cases.
