Hi Scott
1. If you have a brass bush and a steel shaft, that and some damp would
explain the corrosion problem. Can you apply some (careful) heat to the bush
from a blow lamp and freezer spray to the shaft to try and break the
corrosion seal without frying other switch parts?
2. I have used two pack epoxy resin to secure top caps to valve envelopes
on receiving and small transmitting valves like the 2E26 and 6146 but not
sure if it would stand the heat on a 572B.
