I agree. The power supply in the 610 should be redesigned to use an
off-the-shelf type transformer (for low voltage stuff) and with the use
of a HV-type (AC to DC or DC to DC) cube to supply the HV voltage to the
CRT. The rest of the solid-state redesign diddling is up to your own
imagination.
