John, that capacitor is only used for the initial calibration. If this is done using a 6-meter signal then the capacitor is supposed to be 14 pf. If the calibration is done using a 2-meter signal then the capacitor is supposed to be 12 pf. Then the jumper is removed. After the calibration is done, the specifications say that the meter is accurate between 50 MHz and 160 MHz.

Good grief! What "parts" required for changing the VHF range are you referring to? There's 1 (one) part -- C2-- that sets the range, a cap that can be 12 or 14 pF depending on range. If anyone was interested I'd send one of each. My guess is, there's 2pF of lead dress variation in any case.
