The SB200 has about 120 volts on the keying relay that has to be switched to ground. Your FT 897 may not be compatable with this high voltage and has a low resistance now constantly. You need the soft key module or a external keying relay or solid state keing setup.
Also the external keying source has to be a high impedance when in receive or the SB200 relay will be keyed. The final tubes have no efferc on the relay circuit as it is in the bias circuit.
The Icom rigs were never set up to key high voltage. Most of the Kenwoods were as they used high voltage keying in the 922 Amps.
If you are seeing normal Grid current and Plate current and no output, then the diodes in the swr bridge are bad or the output coax is shorted.
I have the soft key on mine and the IC735 works well with it.

hi all, I have had this thing apart and back together more times than I can count hihi it`s got the harbachs ps and soft start when I hook my 897 to it I get the grid and plate and hv about 22 to2300 grid and plate seem normal . theres no pwr or swr and the relay gos to ground it doesn`t matter if the radios hooked up or not even with the tubes out the relay clicks down and stays the and I put the cover on each time. ive looked for reversed diodes and bad solder and every thing. I am open for any input short of using it for target practice hihi its got to be something simple I hope. thanks for any help wb6rwc
