(1) The SB-610 matches the earlier line of Heath equipment which IMHO is
more sought and collected than the newer. Again, just my opinion. Plus, the
SB-610 closely matches other very popular gear of the era.
(2)The SB-614 is a solid state design which is good and a big plus but lacks
a two tone test generator and really provides no provision for monitoring
the receiver IF
(3)The SB-614 provides for front panel gain adjust of the transmitter signal
which is very nice when you use a linear sometimes but not always or are
wanting to make monitoring observations on just the exciter barefoot.
(4)The SB-610 provises more viewable area of the same crt and takes a little
less desk space. Both features I like. If I were really space concious I'd
pursure an HO-10
Unless someone really wants the look of the SB-614 I would say the SB-610 is
a better choice.
I have used both in the past
I believe that about covers it. Hope it was helpful.
