I saw your other post. As you now know, you apply the cement, and
while it is still liquid, apply the baking soda. This causes an
instant and rock hard set. I came across this when I had broken
some sun glasses, and went to and asked a woman who worked repairing
circuit boards could I borrow some of that stuff. She commented
that I should use some "hardener" with it. This was industrial
stuff in a bottle, marked for use with cyanoacrylic cement, and
was a liquid.
I had heard of two part epoxy, of course, but this was different
stuff entirely. I tried it, and the cement set up instantly and
rock hard.
Later, I heard that baking soda would have a similar effect,
and tried dusting a little of the powder on a joint, with
similar results.
