[Heathkit] Tubular Ceramic Cap

Hello all.
As the originator of this topic I would like to thank everyone who has
shared their thoughts and knowledge. I realize that I should have been
more specific.
The capacitor I'm referring to is used as a fixed neutralizing cap for
the 6GK6 driver stage in a Swan 350C (haven't heard much from the Swan
reflector). It's 3.3pf @ 500v and looks like a 1/2w carbon resistor but
about half as long. It even has color bands and I thought it WAS a
resistor until I traced the schematic and then saw a reference to the
'tubular ceramic capacitor' in my old ARRL handbook. It looks burned
and I suspect it to be the cause on the constant self oscillation I get
in the receive mode.
I have a photo if anyone is interested.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Steve K7DNA
