Annoyance? Not at all.  I found it to be quite interesting, and I am sure that many others here did as well.

On the same topic, my SB-101 (very similar to the HW-100/101) is fairly deaf on receive. I've got some tinkering to do. Or maybe the bands are just dead these days.
