[Heathkit] SBA-104-1 and another Question

Got it! Thanks. Looks like the routing is a more important factor than

the PVC... i.e. avoiding conductors or RF absorbers. That's good
practice with or without the PVC conduit, although your point shows that
going underground is probably not a good idea unless the larger conduit
was used. It probably would cost more to do something like this than
you would get out in benefits for us "average" hams... Hanging
something under an elevated deck or porch might be "do-able...

The reason for my inquiry is that I just turned 69 and my joints /
muscles don't work like they used to work! I just got through
re-installing the antenna and all that climbing up trees to provide
supports for the feedline run about did me in! The antenna is on
pulleys so it wasn't a problem. I would much prefer to do my work with
both feet on the ground, while keeping the feedline away from curious
grandkids<grin>. I can run it under my elevated deck and up the side
of a tree then over to the antenna in a 'Safe' manner that avoids
conductors AND Grandkids if I use this method.
