Yeah, I know which is why I said it may be possible using crystal
control.  I think it would be possible to get the oscillator outside
the specific channel passband and have it well enough isolated that it
doesn't get into the driver/PA but I'm not anywhere near sure.  This
would take a lot of head scratching, coffee (with or without the
Jameson's) and most likely a test setup just to try and see what it
does.  All in all, though, the HW-18 is a far better candidate.
