If I manage to actually get two HW-101s (not that I even have one
yet), the second will have 20m moved to 30m, 15m moved to 17m and 10m
moved to 12m*. It may even be possible to use all crystal control to
hit 60m as well. (I might be able to make them switch selectable like
the KWM-2A but I'm not going to bank on it.) This is not a real
problem with a little head scratching and soldering iron work. Of
course, the rig won't be virgin anymore but it will get me on the WARC
bands.
* This may be 40 to 30, 20 to 17 and 15 to 12. The band setting
crystals required are the same, just the original band changes.
It's all in how you want to use the equipment, as designed or getting
more out of it than the engineers intended. For me, squeezing out
more than the engineers planned to take advantage of new conditions
sounds pretty much like a good thing. But we all have our
preferences. :-)
Best regards,
