[Heathkit] HW-16 Problems

Good Afternoon, 

Yesterday I received a HW-16 which has a few problems. 

Firstly, the transmitted note is raspy. I am attributing that to leaky filters. I have the Hayseed re-cap kit on the way. Hopefully, that will fix that problem. 



Secondly, the receiver sensitivity is very low. I can hear one or two sigs. on 80 & 40 but they are very weak and the bands were active at the time. There is a good amount of background hiss and some hum in the phones, so I would make a guess that the problem may be in the rf circuit area. I am flying blind...no schematic/manual yet.  



The tubes check ok. I am gonna do a few voltage checks next, but don't know just what the specs should be w/o a manual. Anybody have any ideas what I might look for while I search for a manual? Anyone on the list got a manual  for sale or can send me a copy of the schematic?
