[Heathkit] Heathkit SW7800

Looking for help (ideas) on a Heathkit SW7800 receiver.  It works fine  on 
AM but will not demodulate an SSB signal.  That's true for CW  also.  All 
voltages on the product detector, BFO  , ect appear to  be OK and replacing 
the IC and transistors in these circuits didn't  help. Don't know where to 
look next?
 
If anyone has experienced a problem like this I will be happy to hear from  
you and it will be appricated.
