John,
Much of the later "Heath" (instead of Heathkit) stuff was pre-assembled by 
other companies.  I am recovering from a total knee replacement, but will 
look up what info I have later as I heal, but it will be a while, hi.  I 
have a 2m talkie that fits the mold you are talking about, and had one of 
the dualbanders.  Nice rigs, and may have been the first of the "small 
button", full duplex rigs.  Has a number like an Icom (5436, or somethng).
