[Heathkit] AT-1 question

Y'all,

I apologize for asking the original question , and for those who don't
think my question was serious, I was pulling your leg, etc., yes, it
is all a government conspiracy; you can put your tinfoil hats back on,
and I'll be watching your every step.

I've never used the ham bands, ever, and have no DX'ng experience,
log, etc., but do have a tech license. Bought two of the AT-1's
back in 2006 when I was in graduate school in TEXAS, they've been
sitting here until two weeks ago. Have recently wasted countless
hours gathering materials, reading,, thought I finally had the danged
thing ready to go, and didn't want to spend another 10 hours reading
the friggin CFR, just wanted to hear a dih or a dah. My intent is
to make a unit work, not buy some transistorized product - there's no
learning in that.

Those who posted with genuine replies, I thank you sincerely for your
time and replies.

regards.....
