   The Heath designs clearly had flaws (flame proof suit on) and the SB300 has a PIP.
The first mixer employs a "plate mixer", but there is no such thing as a
"plate mixer."  (and as a result 15 and 10 meters are a no-go)
   I removed the tiny capacitor on the band switch and the wire from the
oscillator to it, then I fed the cathode of the first mixer from the cathode
of the oscillator with a thin shielded cable. (also the rear panel connector
when used as a transceiver) Now 15 and 10 meters sing.
