[Heathkit] Differences between HG-10 and HG10B VFO?

I agree with Glen. It's not too bad. Assuming that it's built well,
which is not a forgone conclusion, any instability I've encountered with
them has been mechanical.

I've had one or two that would suddenly jump in frequency if I was a
little bit too emphatic with my straight keying.

I believe this to be a result of the bandswitching, dial drum-rotating,
capacitor-turning, indicator-moving, tuning lash-up. The sucker's got
more moving parts than a Swiss watch. Sometimes just a little brush
against the bandswitch knob was enough to cause a jump. Even after
cleaning the contacts.

I've had a few others that didn't exhibit this problem. Luck of the
draw, I guess.

Tom NØJMY. .
