The stability on the Heath VF-1 is improved with the 6AH6.  Also, the 108 volts is achieved on the screen of the oscillator by replacing the 0A2 (150 volt) with an 0B2 (108 volt).  However, the actual B+ fed to the VF-1 needs to be 150 volts regulated for best stability.

It is also reputed to be a more stable replacement for 6AU6's in VFO applications such as in the VF-1.  Even more so if the B+ is dropped down to +108V.
