Paul,
There are A LOT of mods / updates / tweeks and just plain tom-foolery out
there for the SB-200. I've collected some over the past few years. From
what I've read, the resistor you cite "isn't critical" in value. It does
serve as a current limiter in case of tube short. I'm not sure which RFC
you were referring to, but the cathode choke has been suggested to be made
larger, particularly if you go higher in frequency. One article by Richard
Measures shows an RFC in the grid position (start at www.somis.org and poke
around from there!). Lacking a reasonable 220 VAC outlet, I've had to
curtail my amplifier operations.
