[Heathkit] SB-104A - Can WWV be used for another band?

Hi,

The Kenwood R-599 I have uses the 10 MHz band for WWV and it
coincidentally provides coverage of the 30 Meter band. It should be
reasonable to to change any band to any other band you want...perhaps a
15 MHz range that provides WWV to cover the 17 Meter band (maybe just
change the xtal and retune). Big moves would require some new inductors
and maybe some new caps. On my Kwood twins I would be reluctant to use
that 10 MHz band for part of a transceive operation because the vfo
second harmonic runs through the 30 meter band. A separate transmitter
with a different heterodyne or a multiplier scheme (not from the
receiver vfo) would be required. Just something to watch out for in
whatever you decide to do with yours.

Maybe a xtal controlled converter to receive a new band? Hardly an
original idea but plenty of information available.
