[Heathkit] AT-1 wiring question

I recently obtained a nice looking AT-1 but I'm fairly sure that most of it has been rewired since the wiring is purple colored plastic insulation. I would have thought that a radio from that period would probably use cloth covered wire. Can someone check their AT-1 and tell me what color(s) hookup wire was used and the type of insulation and guage?
