If that wafer is ceramic..........and has a "clean" break..............why not use one of the "super glues" and re-join the two pieces?? Check the instructions on the glue to ensure it bonds "ceramics".

I bought a TV-7 tube tester some years back for next to nothing due to the fact that two of the ceramic wafers were broken.? Upon close inspection, they were "clean" breaks.? Applied the super glue.? Checked the contacts for proper alignment, etc. and the tube tester has been working ever since.? Can barely see where the cracks were.? And those wafers get a workout every time a different tube is tested.

Hello Group,

I'm looking for an Apache mode switch. After 5 years of my Apache sitting on
a shelf, I wanted to put it to work again. It was working perfectly before I
gave it a rest... I noticed that the mode switch was stiff and applied
Deoxit on all the switches and pots, prior to bringing it up slowly on a
Variac. Turning the function switch between the CW/SSB/AM positions didn't
feel any easier, so I looked at the switch coser and noticed that the front
wafer is split in half. 
I'm surprised that just by sitting unused for 5 years the ceramic wafer just
cracked and split.
Anyway I'm looking for the switch - someone must have either a spare one or
a parts unit...
Hope to fix that puppy and put it on the air again.
