[Heathkit] repairing a clock motor

I have a Pennwood Numechron 24-hour clock, model 100.  The motor is
bound up, but still hums, so the motor itself is probably good.  I
believe it uses the same motor as the SB-630 Station Console.  Someone
described a method of cleaning out the old grease and pumping in some
new, more modern lubricant.  I tried looking it up in the archives, but
without success.  Anyone have that info on hand?
