Explain please the differences in colors observed and recorded by experts
using NIB examples as well as many well cared for originals?
In 1998 my PPG paint supplier came up with two computer matched formulas
based upon the one each, unblemished, unfaded and unheated SB-200 and SB-220
samples I bought in.
On is for an Alpha Romeo and is catalogued as DDL33407 Gray This is a
lacquer paint and dries extremely fast. I had this injected in cans for
touch ups and in quarts for HVLP spraying.
The other, make unknown, is listed as DAR33128 Gray and is acrylic enamel. I
use this for complete repaints when the humidity cooperates.
I have the tinting information if anyone is interested.
Im sure other samples would have received a different formula and several
more automotive matches.
