There were several other companies who made capacitor 
checkers. Eico and Lafayette among them.

One of the best is the Sprague Tel-O-Mike, the model 5 
being the best of that bunch, since it will even measure 
transformer turns ratios.

And there were some other very interesting test instruments 
made about the same time as the C-3, some of which had 
as many as 8 eye tubes. The RCA or Rider "Chanalyst" had 
4, but the Hickock "Trace-o-meter" used meters instead of 
eye-tubes.

These last two instruments were a combination TRF 
receiver, and signal generator. I've always wanted one or 
the other.
