I want to thank Jim, Dave, Richard, and John for responding to my questions
on the series filament strings.  As I read the responses, I had three
distinct thoughts:

1) I am grateful for the detailed answers.   I learned exactly what I needed
to know thanks to you.  That's why I subscribe to this list. Thank you.

2. I felt my face flushing a bit as I read the answers.  The answers cleared
the fog from my brain and I realized that my college instructors had
successfully covered this basic part of electronics....I am a bit
embarrassed I failed to recall the essential theory to answer this myself.  

3. Considering the expertise that resides here, I also appreciate the
patience shown while answering my questions.

I've got lots more toob questions...those will be coming up.
